Azimuthal Mounts mount the optics in a fork and the tube can be moved by the user horizontally and vertically. The azimuthal mount is recommended for beginners in astronomical observations. Objects in the sky can be adjusted easily and quickly. With Equatorial Mounts the tracking is made with two perpendicular rotary axes (declination axis and hours). The equatorial mount is addressed and fixed with the polar axis at Polaris. Oriented, the mount can be adjusted with the tube only in the hour axis and thus counteract the Earth's rotation. Thus, the object of the eyepiece field of view remains in the middle. Tracking motors balance the earth's rotation by the polar axis in exactly the opposite direction.
