BRESSER on Photokina in Cologne

Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II asked for tea!*

BRESSER, has been known for their optical expertise since the company's founding in 1957. Up until now, the focus was on instruments for nature and celestial observation, night vision equipment and weather stations. Through the licensed cooperation with NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC three years ago the BRESSER optical and outdoor products are now available worldwide.

For the first time the new range of BRESSER Photostudio Equipment, was displayed at Photokina 2014, the worldwide leading trade fair for imaging, photo and optics in Cologne. The new BRESSER product segment is a direct result out of the recent acquisition of 80 percent of shares of the Dutch company Folux BV, which very successfully sells a range of over 1,500 items, consisting of studio lighting, photo studio accessories, video accessories, background systems and roles, in the Netherlands.

A special highlight on the Bresser booth was among others Queen Elizabeth II, and her famous Double Mary Reynolds (82) from England. Visitors could have their photo taken using the new BRESSER equipment with the Queen on her royal sofa. Nearly everyone that came by the booth and wanted to have their photo taken. Over the course of the six day show more than 5000 photos were taken and printed out.

The numerous innovations that were exhibited for the first time at Photokina, made for a long list. The new Bresser-range of analog and digital night vision units, telescopes with a mirror diameter of 50 cm - an absolute novelty for Bresser, waterproof binoculars with GPS function and microscopes with touch screen are only a few of the many highlights. The use of smartphones has changed the world as we knew it only a few years ago and thanks to BRESSER is now also part of nature and celestial observation. Different adapters enable photography with binoculars, spotting scopes, telescopes and microscopes. The new "Bresser Weather App" provides information about the weather, wind, rain, soil moisture, and even power consumption at home onto your phone, no matter where you currently are.

BRESSER was honoured at Photokina from the Charly Bates Solar Energy Project for the best performance during the inaugural International SUNday. This international project, which took place on June 22, 2014, over 150 institutions took part in the world - among others Bresser. As a result BRESSER will host the second International SUNday on June 21, 2015 with Stephen Ramsden of the Charlie Bates Solar Astronomy Project. At the traditional photokina BRESSER VIP Event held this year in the 500 year old wine cellar "Gürzenich" the team received commitments from around the world to join.

The BRESSER management was very satisfied with the exhibition. In addition to long-standing customers and distributors a number of new contacts from all over the world were made. With the introduction of new products, the expansion of the product segment and the international orientation, BRESSER sees itself on the right track for the long term.
