Double victory for Bresser

Two binoculars from the Condor and Pirsch series win the "best binoculars" award in their price segment in the BBR test.

No less than two of our binoculars have made it to first place in the major price-performance comparison of the specialist portal Best Binocular Binocular Reviews (BBR): our Bresser Pirsch ED 8x42 was awarded the prize for best binoculars under 400 euros - and thus in the upper price segment. Our Bresser Condor 10x42 won best binoculars in the price segment below 200 euros.

Outstanding for Pirsch ED 8x42

BBR already tested our binoculars of the Pirsch ED series 8x56 and 8x32 last year - both were rated excellent, which of course makes our team at Bresser Sport Optik very proud. With the rating excellent, the Pirsch ED 8x42 has now surpassed BBR's own rating once again: the binoculars were praised as having an exceptional price-performance ratio of all tested binoculars in the price category below 400 euros / 400 dollars. Although it is technically in the upper price category, it actually costs only 365 euros, says the BBR test report, which can be read in full here (in English).

It explicitly praises, among other things, the very good quality of the images with good colour reproduction and contrast levels, the very low colour fringing as well as the only slight blurring at the edges of the image without visible distortions. High-performance ED glass, which also prevents the formation of colour fringes, ensures the radiant colours and true-colour image representation. Due to the latest phase coating, users also see the image with higher contrast and resolution than without this special coating. For example, feathers or fur structures on animals can be seen better, which is particularly advantageous in low light conditions, explains Daniel Ebbert, Product Manager Sport Optics at Bresser. Especially at dusk or in bad weather, the Dielectric coating on the prisms is worth its weight in gold. This allows more light to be transmitted from the prism, enabling a brighter and clearer image.

Filled with ARGON shielding gas, the waterproof Bresser Pirsch ED 8x42 binoculars have a metal and polycarbonate body that is lightweight yet robust. It is also equipped with an all-metal focus wheel with smooth-running mechanism for fast, accurate focus adjustments. This makes the Pirsch ED suitable for every area of use - for travelling, hiking or hunting. The twist-up eyecups, which can be adjusted in 3 steps, provide optimum viewing comfort for people wearing glasses.

One of the best binoculars in its price class: The Condor 10x42

Best binoculars under 200 euros! This was the conclusion reached by the BBR testers for our Bresser Condor 10x42 roof binoculars. And the praise is impressive: The Condor 10x42 binoculars are without doubt one of the best we have ever tested in this price range, the test report concludes. It goes on to say: Thanks to the all-metal focus wheel, metal diopter regulator and aluminium eyepiece, the binoculars not only look much more expensive than they are, they are just as good as many of the higher-priced mid-range instruments on the market.

The Condor 10x42 is a waterproof and, thanks to nitrogen filling, fog-free binocular from our Condor series. So-called BaK-4 prisms, together with the special UR coating, ensure that even more light is transported to the user's eye, resulting in a bright image, informs Daniel Ebbert. The binoculars with higher light gathering power, which offer a brighter image than other models with 42mm aperture, especially at the onset of twilight, are also the ideal companion in many situations thanks to their not too large housing. Whether on hikes, in the forest for bird and nature observation or for hunting: the Condor 10x42 offers the optimal combination to be versatile.
