Equipped with the Discovery Zoom Microscope, young scientists can turn small samples into large discoveries. Thanks to the zoom function allowing a 20- to 160-fold magnification in combination with the flexibly adjustable illumination from above or below, all kinds of microscopy are open to young researchers.
Red light microscopy:
With a low magnification and illumination from above, details of small, opaque objects can be recognized. This can be as good as anything you can find in your house or garden, it just has to fit under the microscope. So e.g. the individual facet eyes of a fly can be recognized.
Transmitted light microscopy:
For the observation of cell structures in addition to a corresponding high magnification initially wafer-thin samples are needed, so that the light can shine through. But don't worry, for the beginning there are already 3 permanent preparations in the set and additionally the necessary accessories to prepare further ones by yourself.
