Growth: BRESSER exceeds the 100-employee mark

31 new hires and significant revenue growth in the first half of 2020

Rhede, 01.07.2020 - For the first time in 63 years of company history, Bresser GmbH (www.bresser.de) employs more than 100 people at its Rhede site. In this year alone, the team has grown strongly by 31 new hires. "Growth in all categories has long been one of our highest goals. This is also reflected in the number of employees. We cultivate a conscious, long-term and responsible planning of our workplaces and are particularly proud that we have never had to give notice of dismissal for operational reasons", reveals Helmut Ebbert, Managing Director of Bresser GmbH.  After an excellent year 2019, the first half of the year again saw significant sales growth in all product categories, such as Astronomy, Microscopy, Sport Optics, Smart Learning, Photo Studio Equipment and Weather & Time.

Due to the high level of orders, reinforcement was necessary above all in the areas of logistics and shipping, as well as in administration and service, in order to ensure comprehensive customer support. Recently, Dr. Liesenberg, who is intensively involved in the development of professional microscopes, and Mr. Hofstede, who is responsible for the management of international projects, have joined the 107-strong team, thus further promoting and accelerating international growth.

The effects of the corona pandemic merely led to a brief respite in demand. During the travel-free period, many people focused on observing nature and the night sky. Accessories for indoor photography also experienced a real hype. Smart Learning products were particularly in demand. Instead of attending daycare centers and schools, many young scientists had to spend more time at home. Telescopes, microscopes, globes and experiment sets from BRESSSER JUNIOR and NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC provided exciting variety. "It has proven to be a good idea to focus more on the development of innovative products and also to ensure permanent availability," says Helmut Ebbert.

This year Bresser was nominated for the renowned competition "Großer Preis des Mittelstandes" (Grand Prix of Medium-Sized Businesses) by the Oskar Patzelt Foundation and has already reached the jury stage. The jury's decision will be announced in September at an official award ceremony in Düsseldorf. "We are delighted to have been nominated for the competition and would like to thank the WFG in the Borken district for its active support. We are eagerly awaiting the result," says Marketing Manager Jacqueline Schlüter.
