Currently to observe in the evening sky: Mercury and Venus

These pictures were taken by Reinhard Kaltenböck on March 14 and 18, 2013 with a SLR camera and a telephoto lens. Very deep on the western horizon, the two planets closest to the Sun appear prominently around 6 PM. But the Venus with a brightness of -3.8 mag probably is the eye catcher. Mercury is slightly higher with a brightness of -0.3 mag. If you already own a telescope, I recommend you to take a closer look at these worthwhile planets. If you do not have a telescope I can recommend you the following ones: :

BRESSER Classic-60-900 EQ

or

BRESSER Messier 5 Dobson

Last but not least: So that you are always up to date, we recommend our monthly Bresser SkyGuide
