Earth Day 2024: A Day for the Environment and Climate Protection

On April 22, the annual Earth Day once again focuses global attention on environmental issues. This year's theme is "Planet vs. Plastics", which emphasizes the critical need to reduce plastic pollution and encourage sustainable alternatives. The movement is dedicated to ending plastic use to safeguard human health and the planet, with a goal to cut the production of all plastics by 60% by 2040.

As part of Earth Day, numerous international events like clean-ups and workshops are planned to inspire action and enhance environmental awareness. Since its start as a movement by U.S. college students in 1970, Earth Day has evolved into a global initiative. It unites millions of people from over 190 countries in the fight for climate and environmental protection.

Year-Round Earth Day – BRESSER’s Environmental Commitment

As optics specialists, we and our employees delight in what we can see through binoculars, microscopes, telescopes, and the like. Moreover, as manufacturers of weather stations, we are always monitoring climate trends. Naturally, environmental and nature conservation are of utmost importance to us. That's why we are committed to responsibly using the Earth's resources all year round.

We have been foregoing plastic in our product packaging for many years and routinely reuse cardboard boxes. Our delivery slip pouches are made from 100% recycled film, and we continually reduce the number of fully printed cartons. Additionally, most of our catalogues are only available online to minimize paper usage.

At our main location in the Münsterland, Germany, BRESSER is equally environmentally conscious. For over a decade, we've supported the local branch of NABU with financial and material donations. Furthermore, anyone who leaves a Google review of our online shop can have a tree planted in Madagascar on their behalf by Review Forest.
